Syston Overseas Mike Peacock

1st XI Ease Past Barrow

On a much better weekend for weather, it was another win lose and draw for the senior teams with the standout result being at Barrow where the 1st XI demolish the home-side's batting, winning by 123 runs! The 2nd XI were unlucky again not to run out winners against Electricity Sports whilst the 3rd XI were edged out at home to Barrowby ending all hopes of progression in the Golding Shield.

1st XI - On a track where 216 looked to be a par score, Syston looked to the spin attack of Howard and Peacock for a result and got just that as Pete Howard picked up 4 wickets and Mike Peakcock supporting with 3 had the home-side struggling to come close to the target set. Earlier Syston's innings was blighted somewhat by giving wickets away. A shocking run out was overshadowed by a hit wicket and handling the ball. Photo evidence shows skipper Scott Cooper's embarrassment as Syston were bowled out for 216. The team were delighted to welcome back Tom New for his first game of the 2010 who set about a solid innings. Contributions also from Raja Hayat, Waqas Akhtar and Aleem Mahmood.
